Virginia Gingerbread Competition

The most wonderful time of the year is filled with lights, exchanging of gifts, time with family and friends, special traditions, and the hustle and bustle of a busy season! The annual Gingerbread House Competition, a longtime Charlottesville tradition, was on display to the public from December 3 – 6. The theme for this year was “Christmas in the Movies.” We had over 1,500 people take a break from their hectic holiday schedules to visit The Omni Charlottesville Hotel and see the remarkable display. A special appearance was even made by Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Many thanks to Ami Stockwell Smith of Embellish Interiors, who helped decorate our space, The Omni Charlottesville Hotel, who was a gracious host and placed us in the perfect room and to all of the enthusiastic participants who brought a smile to many! We had over 20 gingerbread homes entered in the competition. Below are the winners of the competition:
