An Eventful Weekend
This past weekend was particularly eventful for the House. On Saturday morning, we kicked off the Charlottesville Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive with a storytime featuring lots of special guests. Sharon Gregory, NBC29 Anchor/Reporter and RMHC Charlottesville Board Member, was one of our readers and shared the classic Dr. Seuss book The Cat in the Hat. The kids in attendance listened earnestly, and some of them were still donning their Halloween costumes from the night before! The Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive runs from now through January 1st, 2015.
On Sunday in the House, volunteers from the UVA ADPi sorority helped with some fall maintenance both inside and outdoors. For Sunday dinner, the Barrett family served roast chickens and fresh vegetables for our families.
We thrive when volunteers take time out of their weekend to support the House and our guests, and just want to say thanks!
