Happy Birthday, Miss Emma!

Friends, we had another great visit this evening. The M. family – Mom Kristyn and Dad Jason, and Little Miss Emma, and Grandmoms – came to celebrate Miss Emma’s 1st Birthday by bringing a meal for our families. There was lots of pizza, Caesar salad, sodas, and cupcakes. It was a feast. The M’s are one of OUR families, here a year ago when Emma was born and it was discovered she had a CDH – congenital diaphragmatic hernia – and needed immediate surgery. You may remember another visit they paid to us in November, also bearing gifts. What a wonderful young family, and how touching we find them to be in their efforts to educate the public about CDH and by their faithfulness to the House and its families. Thank you so much, M’s, you have refreshed our weary spirit this afternoon. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Miss Emma!

A Visit from Little Miss Emma M.

Visiting the House on Nov. 15, 2010

Yesterday Jason, Kristyn, and little Miss Emma M. visited the House to give us a wonderful “Thank You” card. The card had a picture of baby Emma taken just after her surgery in the spring, and also a picture of the bubbly Miss Emma at 6 months of age. What a difference! Emma was born in March with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and needed immediate surgery to correct her condition. They wrote: “Thank you for being our home while our daughter was in the NICU. It was a blessing to be close during this rough time. May God bless all the families who come through.” Jason and Kristyn also brought us a wonderful set of cookware for our families to use in the kitchen. Thank you, M’s, for your thoughtfulness and your good wishes. It was a thrill for us to see Miss Emma and how well she – and you – are doing. Take care.
